Perfect get away for families. Nice cool springs offer swimming holes and lots of fun and discovery for all ages. My family had a blast here last weekend and we are camping again this weekend. We absolutely love BOYKIN SPRINGS REC AREA!! I recommend this destination to everyone!
I've been going to the Springs since I was in elementary school, at St Cyprien's. My first trip to Boykin Springs was with the Boy Scouts. Back then not a lot of people knew about it or just didn't go there cause how far it was outta the way. I enjoy being there and how relaxing it makes me feel listening to the Springs babble by my camp site. Only thing I don't much care for is having to leave.
Recreation area is good, spill way and building are nice CCC historic buildings, camp sites are okay but not well maintained. Loud late night parties from other campers with no ranger to keep order. Don't on hiking to Aldridge Saw Mill because trail is close. I hiked it any how and its a difficult 2.5 miles each way on a unmaintained poorly marked trail. Tons of trees are down over the trail and most of the bridges are out. USDA needs to fund rebuilding the trail.
A wonderful place for hiking/walking, taking the family to have a picnic. Absolutely beautiful. I did a wedding ceremony there and all the pictures were beautiful.
This was a wonderful park! We came to swim in the springs, and were slightly disappointed that the rope swing over the lake had been damaged. Despite the swing being a little short, we still were able to swing into the lake and enjoy ourselves. The creek was fun to walk in and relax after a day of driving.
